History, symptoms and signs of viral bronchiolitis

Preceding viral upper respiratory tract infection, cough and/or rhinorrhea
Exposure to an individual with viral upper respiratory tract infection
Signs of respiratory illness may also include:
  • Tachypnea

  • Intercostal and/or subcostal retractions

  • Accessory muscle use

  • Nasal flaring

  • Grunting

  • Colour change or apnea

  • Wheezing or crackles

  • Lower O2 saturations
