Impaired FBG ≥6 mmol/ and 〈7 mmol/L

 In the presence of symptoms compatible with DM, e.g. polydipsia, polyuria. A further fasting sample is required 4–6 weeks later if there are no symptoms present to confirm the diagnosis.
