The AMV+/− and CTRL ensembles consist of simulation members of 10 years. The Dry and Wet ensembles are built by sorting the years in all simulation members according to their average May Soil Moisture value over Southern Europe (see section ‘Influence of the AMV on spring soil moisture and the creation of the Dry and Wet ensembles’ and the Supplementary material for details). For CNRM, some surface air temperature and soil moisture outputs are missing.
