Western blot analysis of immunoreactivity in abdominal Sc and Om preadipocyte (pa) cells from male and female subjects. Aromatase expression was stimulated by cortisol (F, 10⁻⁷m) + (Ins, 500 nm) Sc preadipocyte cells from females, compared with control; whereas, in males, cortisol + insulin reduced aromatase expression. In Om preadipocyte cells from male and female subjects, aromatase expression was stimulated by F (10⁻⁷m) + Ins (500 nm), compared with control.
