Conservation Physiology’s journal level metrics

Both the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) and Oxford University Press (OUP) are signatories to The Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and support the transparent and fair assessment of research. Instead of just providing Conservation Physiology’s impact factor, we now provide a range of journal-level metrics and rankings to help inform readers and authors. In addition to the metrics listed here, each article page provides a range of article-level metrics including citations, downloads and Altmetric score.

2023 Metrics (announced June 2024)

Journal Impact Factor: 2.6 (ranked 20/74 in Biodiversity Conservation category)
For a given year, the JIF represents the number of citations in that year to papers published in the preceding two years. Citations to all papers are included, while the number of papers in the denominator includes just articles and reviews.

Journal Citation Indicator: 0.73 (ranked 24/74 in Biodiversity Conservation)
This represents the average ratio of citations received by citable items (articles and reviews) to the expected citations for documents of a similar age, type and subject category. Values greater than 1 represent better than expected citation performance within the subject category.

CiteScore: 5.1 (ranked 46/211 in Nature and Landscape Conservation)
The CiteScore represents the number of citations in the last four years to articles published in the same period, divided by the number of included articles. This metric includes articles and reviews.

Visits with Content Engagement:  197,825 in 2023
This metric counts visits to the journal’s website where the user views at least one full-text content page.

Acceptance rate (2022 year): 85%
The percentage of peer-reviewed papers that are accepted for publication in Conservation Physiology.

Turnaround time (2023 year): 55 days
The median number of days between submission and a first decision for all submissions to Conservation Physiology.
