Oxford Handbooks, Oxford Bibliographies, Oxford Research Encyclopedias, Anthropology, Archaeology, Education, Geography, Law, Neuroscience, Social Work
I am a Senior Acquisitions Editor in OUP’s Scholarly Reference department, where I work on print and online reference works in the social sciences and sciences. I oversee online modules for the Oxford Handbooks, Oxford Research Encyclopedias, and Oxford Bibliographies programs in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, education, geography, law, neuroscience, and social work. I also acquire new print handbooks in law and archaeology: recent or forthcoming publications include The Oxford Handbook of the Archaeology of Indigenous Australia and New Guinea, The Oxford Handbook of Comparative Health Law, and The Oxford Handbook of U.S. Education Law. I have degrees in linguistics and French literature, both from the University of Chicago. Much of my career has involved reference publishing of one sort or another, and I have been a part of OUP’s Scholarly Reference department since 2012.

Senior Acquisitions Editor
Responsibility:
Archaeology, Classical Studies, Ancient History, Byzantine Studies
I acquire books in classics, ancient and classical history, archaeology, and Byzantine studies.
This includes ancient Greece and Rome from the late Bronze Age, late antique and medieval Byzantium/Constantinople, and ancient cultures beyond these, such as the Ancient Near East and Egypt, as discovered through literature, history, religion, and philosophy. Our archaeology publishing is even more wide-ranging, from prehistoric to contemporary times and with a worldwide focus. I commission monographs, handbooks, general reference works, and textbooks, as well as primary editions for students and scholars, including sourcebooks, translated texts, and scholarly commentaries. I am especially interested in new, diverse, and contemporary approaches, and in the work of under-represented groups. I also look for works with relevance for the contemporary world, including reception studies and cutting-edge theoretical approaches.
My acquisitions list covers Classics, Archaeology, and Ancient History. While the core of the list is focused on the Mediterranean basin from the Bronze Age to Late Antiquity, my editorial interests extend to all parts of the ancient and early medieval world, including Central and East Asia, the African continent, and the cultures of the pre-contact Americas. My list ranges from traditional monographs of philology and historiography to works of reception studies, archaeological syntheses, and interdisciplinary approaches to antiquity. Reference works include titles in the Oxford Handbooks series and several multi-volume Oxford Histories. I seek works that advance scholarship in unique and lasting ways. My list also includes pedagogical commentaries and surveys as well as translations of ancient literature. I am especially keen on helping authors communicate their research to the wider public, and a significant portion of my list are trade and crossover titles.
