I graduated with a PhD in particle physics from the University of Munich in 1994 before joining Oxford University Press. I am a Senior Acquisitions Editor for the Physical Sciences and have since been handling the renowned International Series of Monographs on Physics, the Oxford Master Series in Physics, the Oxford Graduate Texts, as well as several subject-specific series. My list includes a broad range of books in physics and related areas, focused on students at any university level, lecturers, and researchers, or written for a wider audience of scientists and academics from various disciplines. Subjects include Atomic, Optical, and Laser Physics, Particle and Nuclear Physics, Plasma Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology, Condensed Matter Physics (Magnetism, Semiconductors, Materials Physics, Soft Matter Physics), Crystallography, Theoretical, Computational and Statistical Physics, Atmospheric Physics and Climate, Networks and Complexity, History and Philosophy of Physics.
I joined Oxford University Press in 2001 and have been acquiring in the sciences since 2003. I have worked on a wide range of projects, including The Scientific Sherlock Holmes (winner of the 2013 Best Critical/Biographical Edgar Award), The Flora of Middle Earth, Writing Science, and Official Methods of Analysis of the AOAC. I also work within series such as “What Everyone Needs to Know” and “Long-Term Ecological Research”. While I have been lucky enough to acquire across the Sciences in my time at OUP, I am now particularly interested in titles from Earth and Environmental Sciences. Within those areas I’m on the lookout for climate related titles, space related titles, and food science related titles.
I am an Acquisitions Editor in Reference Editorial, specializing in earth and environmental sciences. I oversee the publication of several online modules for Oxford Research Encyclopedias (ORE) in the disciplines of climate science, environmental science, natural hazard science, planetary science, and physics. I am also the subject editor on three Oxford Bibliographies (OBO) modules, which cover topics on ecology, evolutionary biology, and environmental science. Recent print titles I have worked on include The Oxford Encyclopedia of Environmental Economics and the forthcoming Oxford Encyclopedia of Water ResourcesManagement and Policy. I have worked in STM publishing since 2016 and joined the reference team at Oxford University Press in April of 2021.
