Psychology

I started at OUP in 1995, having completed an MSc in Experimental Methods in Psychology at University College London. I acquire in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, music psychology, and clinical psychology. Within cognitive neuroscience, I cover a range of core topics including, vision, memory, consciousness, and emotion. Most of my books are written at a level appropriate for upper-level undergraduates and upwards. In music psychology, I acquire scholarly monographs, academic handbooks, and practical books in music therapy. Our global neuroscience list includes a range of leading scholarly monographs, handbooks, and an increasing number of brain atlases. Within clinical psychology, I cover cognitive behavioural therapy, mentalization based treatment, EMDR therapy, brief dynamic interpersonal therapy, cognitive analytic therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy. In clinical psychology, I acquire handbooks, scholarly monographs, and clinical practice guides.

Within the Social and Behavioral Sciences acquisitions group I acquire books in social work, counseling psychology, and industrial/organizational psychology. While these are three distinct and separate areas, they are similar in the applied nature of each discipline, offering a clear career trajectory from graduate study to professional practice (in addition to the academic and research communities). As such, our commissioning and publishing in each area seeks to provide authoritative content from-cradle-to-grave, from upper-level undergraduate/graduate textbooks to research monographs, handbooks, and desk references, to practitioner-oriented materials and trade and impact titles. We have some wonderful society partners, co-publishing several series with SIOP (I/O Psych) and another with SSWAA (social work), and I am always exploring additional ways to deepen those relationships and establish others.  Before joining OUP in 2012, I was an acquisitions editor at Routledge/T&F where I oversaw the counseling and school psychology lists.

I am an Acquisitions Editor, working on both print and online reference publications in the social sciences and sciences. I oversee online modules for Oxford Handbooks Online, Oxford Research Encyclopedias, and Oxford Bibliographies in the areas of economics, finance, business, management, psychology, and childhood studies. I also acquire select print handbooks and encyclopedias in the areas of economics, finance, business, management, and psychology. Recent print titles I have worked on include The Oxford Handbook of Supply Chain Management, The Oxford Handbook of Luxury Business, and The Oxford Encyclopedia of the History of Modern Psychology, among others. I have worked in reference publishing at Oxford University Press since 2016. 

I acquire in clinical psychology, and my list is composed chiefly of professional and scholarly works on psychological disorders and their treatment, prevention, and assessment, as well as the science underlying these conditions across the lifespan. A strong emphasis is placed on evidence-based treatments such as CBT and ACT, and this focus includes the treatment manuals and client/patient workbooks that make up the Treatments That Work and Programs That Work series. Books cover a broad spectrum of disorders and clinical issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress, school refusal, and psychosocial issues relating to chronic illness, among others. I also acquire in forensic/law psychology and school psychology, as well as select titles on the history of psychology and the history of psychoanalysis. I publish scholarly handbooks, monographs, professional resources geared towards mental health/psychotherapy practitioners, and a small number of trade/general interest titles. 

I am the social psychology and neuropsychology editor at Oxford University Press, based out of New York City. Within these lists, I have a particular focus on political, personality, and cultural psychology. My background features a rare mix of psychology and medical publishing experience, including higher education textbooks and resources for undergraduate students, professional and graduate-level psychiatry books, and trade nonfiction psychology and children’s books. I have a passion and dedication to diversity and inclusion that drives me to elevate equity to the highest standards possible. I proudly advocate for underrepresented scholars or scholarship and empower authors to think creatively about the broader spectrum of perspectives. 

I acquire primarily in the areas of education, developmental psychology, narrative psychology. I've also been fortunate to assume editorial responsibility for some key series in these respective areas such as Child Development in Cultural Context, Explorations in Narrative Psychology and the Emerging Adulthood series. In my time at OUP, I've worked on economics, world history, and clinical psychology titles which has provided me with a variety of experience working with different audiences and format types. I welcome the opportunity to work on projects for a range of readers, whether that be scholarly research monographs, books for professionals, or books with general interest readers in mind. I'm particularly interested in titles that adopt an interdisciplinary perspective and I am keen to work with those looking to decolonize our global research community.

I seek to acquire works of lasting value, scholarly importance, and academic utility in all areas of linguistics and in developmental psychology. While these will typically take the form of monographs, textbooks, handbooks, or reference works, I am also interested in considering proposals that present the science of language and of child development to a more general audience. Particular areas of focus within developmental psychology include first and second language acquisition in all its variability, child cognitive and social development, atypical development and developmental disabilities, early child intervention, and development across the lifespan. In linguistics, I am eager to continue to commission titles in our world leading series that amplify research in phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics, historical linguistics, typology, sociolinguistics, and linguistic theory. I am also keen to consider proposals that explore the intersection of linguistics with bordering disciplines, including anthropology, evolution, education, lexicography, and all aspects of cognitive science.
