Renewals

Continuity of access to resources is vital. Oxford University Press (OUP) understands that you depend on uninterrupted delivery, so we have a uniform renewal process for different publication types and subscription options.

Journals

Approximately three months before your subscription is due to expire, we will send a renewal notice by email (or by surface mail, if you haven’t provided a valid email address). Reminders will be sent at one-month intervals through the end of your subscription period.

To renew online

We recommend waiting for your renewal email, which will include a tailored link to renew. However, if you would like to renew directly on Oxford Academic, navigate to the relevant journal and click "purchase" in the navigation bar at the top. Then click the option "renew an existing subscription".

Please note that online renewals are only available if you previously activated your subscriber number using your Oxford Academic Account. For more information about this step, see Activate purchases and trials.

It is not possible to renew an expired/lapsed subscription. If your subscription has expired please choose the 'buy subscription' option.

Contact us if your subscription expiration is approaching and you haven’t received a renewal notice, are unable to renew online, or have any other issue.

Digital books

Institutional subscribers to our digital books will be invoiced for a renewal payment about six weeks before your subscription expires.

Personal subscribers will be sent an online renewal link prior to the expiration date via email.

If you have not received notification, please contact us.

Agents

If you process renewals using ICEDIS-format data, our team will contact you directly with your renewal file approximately three months prior to your subscription expiring.

If you use other data formats, you’ll receive a renewal notice approximately three months before your subscription expires and then at monthly intervals.
