Abstract
This chapter focuses on building confidence to join new groups and creating a plan to enhance social connections. It begins by reviewing strategies for building a shared identity and examining key factors for successful group connections—such as positivity, compatibility, shared values, and endurance. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences with the Groups 4 Health program as a model for joining new groups. The session concludes with the development of a SMART social plan, guiding participants to identify concrete steps for joining a new group or strengthening group relationships in the coming weeks. Throughout the session, the long-term benefits of maintaining group connections for well-being are highlighted.
