The journal is an essential educational and training resource integrating clinical, translational and educational research into clinical practice. CKJ aims to contribute to a translational research culture among nephrologists and kidney pathologists that helps close the gap between basic researchers and practicing clinicians and promote sorely needed innovation in the nephrology field. Gender Equality

CKJ is committed to gender equality and reducing disparity in care which results from inequality. The journal is working to improve equity in the following ways:

  1. Diversifying the editorial board to includewomen and other underrepresented groups.
  2. From now (2024), asking all authors to providesex stratified analyses, where appropriate and to acknowledge if a study isunderpowered to identify sex differences. This will become mandatory in 2026.
  3. Creating a supplement dedicated to the issue ofgender inequality – The Forgotten Sex.

Gender equality is an issue for which we are all responsible and to support this, authors, reviewers, editors and readers are encouraged to please share their suggestions for inclusion with Kate Stevens (via [email protected]). Working together is likely to be significantly more effective in achieving equity.
