Veronica Giacintucci

Veronica is a lecturer in food science at the University of Surrey. She has a PhD in Food Science from the University of Teramo, Italy, and has collaborated with research groups in Italy, Spain, and Canada. Her research journey began with a focus on fats and oils in colloidal systems, such as emulsions and oleogels. After completing her postdoctoral work at the University of Reading, her interests expanded to exploring the functional and physical properties of ingredients, particularly fats and sugars, and their influence on food structure and sensory characteristics. Veronica is deeply passionate about new product development, constantly seeking innovative formulations and enjoying brainstorming ideas with her students. She is also enthusiastic about science communication and hosts The Food Science Addict Podcast.

Robert Edge-Partington

Robert Edge-Partington is Senior Communications Manager, leading communications for IFST. He curates the IFST News section in the print journal and works to promote the magazine and its interests. Robert has a background in sustainability and science communications, with experience at the UN, the University of Oxford, and as a science communications specialist focused on climate science.
