Sister-journal relationship with JNCI
The journal also welcomes interim articles on the design and plan of phase studies before actual results are obtained. While clinical trials usually require a long time to accomplish a conclusive outcome, the journal believes reports of interim outcomes will be highly appreciated by its audience. JJCO was established in 1971 as the first journal from Japan to publish clinical research on cancer in English. JJCO was initially financially supported by the Foundation for Promotion of Cancer Research to assist dissemination of Japanese research. The National Cancer Centre (NCC) played a central role in managing the journal. The successive Editors-in-Chief have all been presidents of the NCC. Oxford University Press (OUP) became the journal’s publisher since 1997. Since 2007, due to JJCO ’s success in establishing itself as an international journal, it became independent of sponsorship in 2007.
