Methodology, instructional technology, and applications of forensic, medical, and veterinary entomology
The Journal of Medical Entomology is pleased to publish a special collection on methodology, instructional technology, and applications of forensic, medical, and veterinary entomology edited by Adrienne Brundage, Ph.D., D-ABFE, and Jason Byrd, Ph.D., D-ABFE. This collection focuses on several areas germane to the field of forensic entomology and will be organized into several sections. The methods section will include methods development for the use of computer modeling, degree day calculations, and thermal limits. The area of instructional technology will concentrate on augmented and virtual reality and artificial intelligence in the classroom, novel teaching methods and techniques, and tools for distance education. The applications area will emphasize legal and civil casework, and empirical research on growth, development and behavior of insect species commonly encountered in forensic, medical, and veterinary entomology.
