Abstract

Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for PTSD : Client Workbook for Veterans assists clients who are participating in a Group Cognitive Behavior Therapy and is designed to be used with the accompanying Therapist Guide. The Client Workbook provides a concise overview of each chapter, along with information sheets and worksheets to facilitate between session practice. This treatment program integrates best practices derived from group therapy with evidence-based cognitive behavioral approaches to target PTSD and frequently co-occurring conditions ( depression, anger, and social isolation). Tested with both Veteran and non-Veteran populations, Group CBT has been proven to reduce symptoms of PTSD and improve quality of life, overall functioning, and life satisfaction. Essentially, the Client Workbook is designed to track progress and facilitate mastery of specific CBT techniques, to enhance mental well-being.
