About the Journal
Integrative and Comparative Biology (ICB), formerly American Zoologist, is one of the most highly respected and cited journals in the field of biology. ICB’s primary focus is to integrate the varying disciplines in this broad field, while maintaining the highest scientific quality. The journal is dedicated to publishing findings from symposia and other events at the annual meeting of the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology as well as invited bundles (groupings). We also publish a handful of queried papers annually.
Mission Statement
Integrative and Comparative Biology (ICB) publishes high-impact, peer-reviewed articles in integrative, comparative and organismal biology. Papers communicate the proceedings of symposia and other events at the annual meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology. One of the largest and most prestigious professional associations of its kind, the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) seeks to integrate the many fields of specialization which occur in the broad field of biology. The SICB is organized around eleven divisions, each relevant to a major segment of biology. The Society is dedicated to promoting the pursuit and public dissemination of important information relating to biology. Research is presented in numerous symposia during the SICB Annual Meeting, as well as in the publication of Integrative and Comparative Biology ( ICB ). The SICB takes pride in the fact that one of the Society's focal points is to support its student members, and that the organization is fundamentally committed to the advancement and development of the field of biology through its members.
