Call For Papers: The Health Consequences of Climate Change
In response to the uncharted new world of global warming and climate change, the Postgraduate Medical Journal is calling for submissions that deal with the health consequences of climate change.
Deadline for submissions: 2 April 2025
Scope: We know from geology that there have been ice ages on earth, so long-term shifts in the temperature in the world and the consequent climate changes are a natural phenomenon. However, with industrialization, urbanization and the burning of fossil fuels, the pace of change has also been phenomenal. Record-breaking temperatures, droughts, floods and hurricanes of biblical proportions have ravaged various parts of the world. Besides the illnesses caused by extreme heat, the change in water and food supply, the rise in insect-borne and other infectious diseases, and the stress of adapting can all take their toll on human health.
In response to the uncharted new world of global warming and climate change, the Postgraduate Medical Journal is calling for submissions that deal with the health consequences of climate change. This is an urgent and literally, hot topic, and a global issue that concerns us all, and ties in with the PMJ’s mission to publish current topics of worldwide relevance.
Submissions on this topic are welcome for all article types: Editorials (a short objective authoritative article), Reviews, Original Research Papers or Letters. The Editors and Editorial Board Members hope that these articles will contribute to the understanding of the health consequences of climate change and offer plausible solutions to the new problems. We look forward to receiving your valuable manuscripts.
