Abstract

Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for PTSD: Therapist Guide provides session by session guidance for clinicians to deliver Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in a group setting to clients with PTSD. It overviews best practices derived from group therapy literature, with evidence-based cognitive behavioral approaches targeting PTSD and frequently co-occurring conditions. The co-occurring conditions include depression, anxiety, and social isolation. Moreover, Group CBT has been tested and shown to reduce symptoms of PTSD and improve quality of life, overall functioning, and life satisfaction. The Therapist Guide also offers helpful notes and worksheets dedicated to each session based on the clinical experience working with people with PTSD.
