Melania Manco, MD, PhD, FACN
Professor, clinical research scientist and consultant endocrinologist at Bambino Gesù Hospital, Rome, Italy
Her research interests have included understanding of mechanisms linking fatty acids metabolism, insulin sensitivity and reversal of diabetes in patients with severe obesity following bariatric surgery; and more recently, metabolic programming and the early onset of obesity and associated cardiometabolic diseases, including metabolic associated liver steatosis. Her research is now moving toward the understanding of the “obese brain”.
