Call for Papers

The mission of Toxicological Sciences, the official journal of the Society of Toxicology, is to publish a broad spectrum of impactful research in the field of toxicology. The primary focus of Toxicological Sciences is on original research articles. We are inviting all experts in the Society of Toxicology and beyond to submit their insightful and timely research articles. Toxicological Sciences is currently particularly interested in studies addressing the following:

  • The mechanistic role of microbiome(s) in modulating toxicity caused by environmental chemical exposure.
    • Studies examining mechanisms by which chemicals modulate/cause toxicity by direct or indirect effects of microbes are of strong interest.
  • Studies examining the impact of microplastics on cell function and toxicity.
    • Studies should evaluate mechanisms of toxicity induced by exposure to microplastics and consider the impact of mixtures if possible.
    • Specific topics of interest include innovative models for exposure, systemic ADME, linking toxicity to advanced materials analysis, and sources of exposure.
  • Utility of artificial intelligence in predictive toxicology.
